For a collector of chronographs, there are watches that are classics.
The birth of chronographs, around the end of the 1930s, gave several manufacturers the opportunity to take their names to the top. Thus, Venus, Valjoux, saw at the end of the 30s and the beginning of the 40s their productions growing in an important way.
One of the marks carrying these calibres to the knowledge of the public was Breitling.
The war helped, and the tools of precisions imposing themselves in all the components of this one, Breitling thus took an important share of the market, especially in aviation.
At the beginning of the 40s, Breitling released its first Chronomat, which already followed the Breitling Premier.
The Breitling 777 version was the transition phase between the first chronograph and the Chronomat.
One finds there already the telemeter, which will be one of the tools prisé by the mark.
Here the version that we propose to you is clearly a piece of the history of the mark.
With more than 80 years of history, this chronograph bears the marks of its age.
The black dial has the patina of time. The marks still visible lose their depth with time, but clearly, we are dealing with a superb chronograph, offered in its time, and engraved on its back "LOve" 19 20/12 47, like a gift made to a husband by his loving wife.
The case has certainly been modified in time, it bears very discreet marks of drilling at the level of the fates of the watch.
The old lady must be treated with care, it works perfectly, but when setting the time of the watch, the pulling of the crown must be very soft, because the stem shows important traces of use. As you can see, the angle from the balance wheel is 311°, which means is like a new watch wealth!
If you treat this beautiful watch as it should be, without forgetting that you are dealing with an 80-year-old watch, then you will be able to use it for a long time.
